Floating Tree by Danijel-Knez Floating Tree by Danijel-Knez
A3 paper. Equipment used: 2H,B,Hb pencil. Wooden black, green, olive green pencil. Unie pen 0.1 and 0.3.
Time to complete: 11 hours.

A special gift for a friend of mine. This was put on hold for a longer time then needed, i had a struck of inspiration and done it in a day. When inspiration hits, there is no stopping it.

I was sitting in a bus one day. As i was on my way home and the bus broke down, it was night and there was this tree near a lamp post. The weather was windy and as i was listening to my MP3, i was looking at this tree, constantly in flow with the wind, its motion and appearance made this drawing possible.

I am more then happy with this gift. Not just for practice, i can see how much my style is changing and how much in time i can draw better and better.

Enjoy!

Man, the color was spot on and the idea of making ground fall apart awesome. The detail on the tree just amazing and the look of the leaves. I love it! *High-Five*

The green honestly is just gorgeous. The color just pops against the bg and the grayer shading. Actually, the pose of the tree is pretty interesting too. It kind of looks like a snake dancing and rising, but then the branch spreads out in a way that resembles fingers reaching for the skies. It kind of ends up looking like a person holding a fan (which is interesting because the whole wind thing, so yep).

Thank you my friend!
As the description says, inspiration has done most of the job. The leaf is as i draw them as on the previous tree drawings. Can only go with this, i like the way they are, might change them in the future, but now they will stay as the are, i have combines more colors to make them stand out like that and the scan was more then good, so its a good picture all together. Having some problems with scanning lately.
The trunk was used from those bonsai trees.

I really like the shading on the earth and the way the tree curves and kind of looks like a sitting area and that to me reminds me of a really peaceful place to just stop and think. it feels really peaceful
